-Inspired by the concept of our Earthly Home, Heavenly Home, and Make Believe Home (where our inner child feels safe). This piece was heavily inspired by my parents home in Denver NC where I always feel safe and at home. I used branches from the pine tree in their backyard to spread the oil paint on the raw canvas (the tree is painted on the lower left corner). I gathered colors from the landscape around the house and natural materials to help in the creation process, like fallen leaves. 
The name “Fairy Houses” is an ode to the make believe fairy village I grew up building with my friends and brother in our backyard. We traded pine cones for currency and created our own real life fairy houses and stores out of nature. 
The girl is surrounded by a kind of aura that reminds me so much of the Holy Spirit surrounding me all my life and planting my feet on solid ground so graciously. There cannot be one home without the others, they are all beautifully intertwined 💫
